Horticulturalist Award Program
HOW TO APPLY FOR AN AQUATIC HORTICULTURALIST AWARD
1. Make sure you keep good precise records of all plant propagations and have an executive
member of your local club/society verify the propagations.
2. Before applying for a Horticulturalist Award, check to see if in fact you meet the requirements
of the particular award you are applying for. Remember that you are applying for a C.A.O.A.C.
Aquatic Horticulturalist Award. This may in fact be different than your club/society Aquatic
Horticulturalist Award.
3. When applying for an Aquatic Horticulturalist Award, fill out the “Application for
Horticulturalist Award” form. A copy of this form is available on the C.A.O.A.C. website. Part A
of the form must be completed by you. Part B is to be completed by the executive of your local
club/society.
MAKE SURE THAT THE APPLICATION IS LEGIBLE.
4. A propagation resume must accompany the application. The form is on the CAOAC website if
you care to use it. If you wish to send a computer generated list, make sure it includes the same
data requested otherwise it will not be accepted.
5. Make sure that the form has been submitted to the Awards Committee by the DEADLINE OF
THE FEBRUARY C.A.O.A.C. GENERAL MEETING. If late, they are considered as early
applications for the next award year.
6. At the Awards Committee meeting, each application is reviewed to ensure that the
qualifications are met for the award applied for. Again, the Awards Committee stresses to
include as much information as possible, too little could eliminate you from receiving the award.
If unsuccessful, you will be notified most likely via you club AHAP Chairperson.

C.A.O.A.C. at the time of the C.A.O.A.C. March Awards Committee meeting.
2. The application must be submitted on the form “Application for Horticulturalist Award”
which is on the C.A.O.A.C. website. This form must be completed and must be signed by the
Executive of his club/society.
3. No application will be accepted if signed by the applicant.
4. A Propagation Resume must be attached to the application. This form is provided on the
C.A.O.A.C. website. If a computer generated application is being submitted, it must include the
information requested. If this criterion is not adhered to, the application will not be considered by
the Award Committee.
5. Private members may apply if they cannot able reasonably expected to be a member of a
club/society because of geographical location. The final decision is at the discretion of the
Awards Committee.
6. Only one level can be applied for per year.
7. The DEADLINE for submitting applications is the February C.A.O.A.C. General meeting.
